BENEFIT – ANDRZEJ JAN PIWARSKI – TRACES OF TIME

In the legendary hall ” Filmbühne at Steinplatz “, Hardenbergerstr.12 , 10623 BERLIN on 10 December 2013 at 7.oo pm held benefit Andrzej Jan Piwarski “Traces of time.” Benefis organized : Consular Section of the Polish Embassy in Berlin, the Federal Association – Polish Forum in Germany and Artistic Agency andi -pol -art in Berlin.

Program of the event consisted of a number of attractions, including was displayed TV movie “August unions” showing Piwarskis paintigs on the canvas of history “Flight” associated with the Gdansk shipyard strike in August 1980 . Andrzej Piwarski that was in 1970 during the so-called Gdansk – December events on the Coast. After ten years has witnessed another protest and fight for the rights and dignity of man . Doing sketches, collects various types of originals , documents accompanying the times . Plans in artistic way to present and preserve a time of hope , which originated in the first time in Gdansk and later in Poland and Europe.
Created a large series of paintings “Traces – Hopes – Poland 1970-1980 ” . Receives clothing from his friend , in which he was out for 17 days in the shipyard in Gdansk. After six years, the artist blends the original, nothing in it without changing the big picture format. Giving a big load of expression is painting the wings that lift the character- clothes in a hopeful space . He made the metaphor of “Solidarność” movement . After 25 years, the filmmakers conducted a conversation in the studio with the author and his wife Barbara Ur- Piwarska and shipyard worker , who still works in the same repair yard in Gdansk. The wheel of history drew a circle .
Celebration benefit concert was attended by prominent musician – composer Józef Skrzek . Concert in its execution it improvisations and variations Piwarski to seven images displayed on a large screen. Rich in texture , full of mystery and contrasts music master Skrzek created to complement and evocative setting of this extraordinary exhibition. Virtuosic compositions gave an unforgettable atmosphere of acceptance by the public works of sound and color. It was a real treat to melody and timbre.
Piwarski presented by displaying on a large movie screen their paintings created during his fifty years of creative work. It is interesting that one of the two winning paintings – Award of the Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1963.
Complementing the show “Exhibition – 50 years of creative work ” was a projection of some documentation of exhibitions , reviews and directories until 1990 , ie for artistic and physical return of the Polish Republic after nearly 10- year absence .
During a benefit auction was held paintings and drawings AJ Piwarski. Sold four paintings created in Spain and one ink drawing from the series “Majorca ” .
The over three-hour full of art and memories of the evening ended champion Józef Skrzek doing their very touching composition which also dedicated to his wife Andrzej Piwarski – an outstanding artist Barbara Ur – Piwarska.
